A Note About Our Rates

We strive to offer quality pet care at reasonable rates that can fit in everyone's budget.  We feel that our rates are competitive and reflect our professionalism and high level of care that our pet sitters give to your pets and home.

We realize that you have many choices when it comes to the care of your pet-family members, and we appreciate you considering us.  We hope that you will choose our service for a number of reasons:

  • Availability, service area, and back-up pet sitters - We have a staff of caring, responsible, qualified pet care providers who have good availability for pet sitting appointments.  We service most of the Jacksonville area, not just one or two communities, and if your primary pet sitter is booked up, sick, or out of town, we will provide a back-up sitter to care for your pets; we will never cancel a confirmed pet sitting assignment last minute and leave you in a bind.
  • Personalized service - Even though we have a large staff, we assign one pet sitter to your household so that you and your pets can establish and maintain a personal relationship with your pet sitter.  Exceptions may be made if you require pet sitting 4+ times per day (then we may need to split the pet sitting between two sitters), or if you need pet sitting at a very specific time of day when your primary sitter is unavailable.  Most pet sitters will give you their home/cell phone numbers so that you may call to check on your pets while you're away.
  • Courtesy phone call on the first visit of your pet sitting assignment - Your pet sitter will call you on the first visit of every pet sitting assignment.  This is just a courtesy call to let you know that the sitter has started pet sitting and that you can rest assured that your pets are being well cared for.  If you would like more phone calls from your sitter, just let them know!
  • Pet Care Reports - When you arrive home from your trip, there will be a Pet Care Report on your counter from your pet sitter detailing how your pets were while you were away.  It will have a checklist of what pet/home care was done, and handwritten notes about how your pets did with their pet sitter.
  • Liability and bonding insurance - All of our pet sitters are covered under a comprehensive pet sitters' insurance policy in the case of negligence on their part for anything in their "care, custody, and control," including everything in your home and your pets.  They are also covered under a Bonding policy in case of theft.  Our coverage limits are the maximum allowed by our group insurance company, and we have never made a claim on our insurance.
  • Thorough employment screening - All of our pet sitters go through a thorough interview process which includes a personal interview with the business owner, an employment reference check, a personal character reference check, a two-county criminal background check, and a national Wants & Warrants check.  In addition, all pet sitters sign a Drug Authorization release (which allows them to be drug-tested at any time at the discretion of the company) and a thorough Independent Contractor's agreement, outlining rules and expectations of the company.
  • Business office hours - Office hours at our doggie daycare are 7am to noon and 3-6pm on weekdays, 8-10am and 4-6pm on weekends.  We may need to call you back in the evening to confirm your pet sitting reservation after we speak with your pet sitter.

Policies and Important Information

Notice:     Please allow at least a few days’ notice, if possible, to schedule pet sitting or a new client consultation.

Reservations:     Please make sure that you call the business office for reservations or cancellations.  You may contact your pet sitter directly to check in on your pets.  However, please do not schedule new pet sitting visits or cancel appointments with the pet sitters.  This has led to miscommunications about visits, and clients being charged for appointments that had been previously cancelled.

Cancellations:     If you need to cancel pet sitting appointments, please give us at least 24 hours notice.

Home Access:  We prefer that you use a key lockbox to allow your pet sitter access to your home.  We provide key lockboxes, which are yours to keep.  You do not need to put the lockbox on your front door; you may attach it to your fence, put it on your back porch, or hide it in another secure location on your property.  The lockboxes are very secure and are made of metal.  Using our key lockboxes is not required to use our service.  You may purchase your own key lockbox from a retailer, or you may place your single key somewhere on your property that only you and your pet sitter knows.  Your sitter will need to return your key to the designated spot after each pet sitting visit.

We prefer to use lockboxes for a number of reasons.  Most importantly, if anything happens to your primary pet sitter, we will always be able to send a back-up sitter to care for your pets.  Further, we feel that your key is much safer in a locked box on your property than in your pet sitter's car or home.  Keys being lost by service companies (pet sitters, house cleaners, etc) is not uncommon.  The reality is that anything can happen.  Pet sitters often have to carry files and keys around on many appointments, and keys can easily slip out of files and be misplaced.  Other mishaps may occur as well: your pet sitter's car or home may be broken into where your file or key was being kept; your pet sitter may be in a car accident where files and keys could be ejected out of the car; unauthorized persons may have access to your pet sitter's files in their home (acquaintances, house cleaners, etc).  Using a key lockbox eliminates many of these potential problems.  Further, our lockboxes are yours to keep so that you may use them for friends and family arriving, or if you are locked out of your home, or for other service companies doing work at your house.

Early and Late Appointments:     We generally do our pet sitting visits no earlier than 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. and no later than 9:00 - 10:00 p.m.  If you have a request for an earlier or later appointment, there may be a small fee to accommodate your request.  Very late and very early appointments can pose a safety threat to our sitters.

Aggressive Dogs:     If you are not completely sure that your dog will allow a pet sitter into your home while you are NOT there, then we cannot accept the pet sitting assignment.  Entering your home when you are away is a condition of our pet sitting service; attempting to care for a potentially aggressive dog puts the pet sitter at risk and does not allow us to fulfill our promise to you to care for your pets and home.  If you did not realize that your dog would be aggressive (growl bearing teeth, nip at pet sitter’s hand while attempting to put on leash, etc), and we have already begun pet sitting, then we will do our best to finish our assignment as agreed.  If we are unable to provide normal pet sitting duties due to your pet’s aggressiveness (walk your dog, get him or her outside to go potty), then regular fees and/or additional fees will apply.  We cannot provide free or discounted visits for pet sitting if the dog’s aggressiveness prohibits us from performing our regular duties.  Further, you may be responsible for your pet sitter’s medical fees should your dog bite or otherwise injure the sitter.

Travel Delays:     It is rarely a problem for us to continue pet sitting should you be delayed on your trip and not be able to return home as expected.  Regular rates for the extra visits will apply.

Pet Sitters:     Every effort is made to assign one pet sitter to each client's household.  However, a back-up sitter will be sent to your home should your sitter be ill, have an emergency, be on vacation, have scheduling problems, or no longer work for the company.  The back-up pet sitter will be in touch, if possible, with your regular pet sitter and will have access to all of the client information in your file.

Hurricane Contingency Plan:     We should always have your contact information on file for every trip you take so that we can get in touch with you in case of an emergency.  During a hurricane, we also need to have a local contact who can take in your pets if you cannot get home to care for them yourself.  We can assist in getting the pets to your local contact.  But, we would be unable to evacuate all of our clients’ pets.  During a time of such an emergency, our pet sitters will naturally be concerned about their own families and pets, as well as all of their clients’ pets.  If you choose not to return to care for your pets, and we must travel to your home during a hurricane to care for your pets, we reserve the right to adjust your scheduled visits accordingly (i.e. caring for your pets twice a day rather than three times per day).

Appointment Times:     We will make every effort to follow your pet's routine and visit your home at your requested times.  However, we cannot promise to be there at an exact time each day; we prefer to have a "ballpark" time that is acceptable to you and your pets, during which we can promise to visit your home.
