Dog Days & Cat Naps currently pet sits in most areas of Jacksonville, Florida. We travel to your home to provide attentive and loving care to your pets while you are away. Due to increasingly high gas prices, our service areas depend on your proximity to our pet sitters. Please call/email to make sure we have a sitter available near your home.
We also provide cageless boarding and doggie daycare in Jax Beach.
Our company was founded in 2000 on the philosophy that pets deserve to be treated with the highest level of respect and loving care. We provide many services to care for pets depending on their needs. All pets are different; some need the social interaction of doggie daycare, while others prefer to stay at home and have their favorite pet sitter care for them.
Our Staff
Becky Eberly (Owner/Manager):
Becky has been around pets her whole life. Being raised on "Mulberry Farm" in northern Virginia, she helped raise five dogs, horses, chickens, cats and a guinea pig. She is very accustomed to the needs of animals. She and her husband, Mike, have a rescued dog named Jasper, a Catahoula Leopard dog, and a yellow lab named Bo. They also have three children, Sydnie (7) and Alison (5), and baby Bryan.
Becky has her Masters degree in Business Administration from Mount St. Mary's College in Maryland, and decided to combine her business training with her love for animals by founding her own pet care business. She keeps continuously up to date on pet care issues through her membership in the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.
The business currently has 22 pet sitters all over Jacksonville. All of our sitters start with a personal interview with the business owner. Prospective pet sitters must complete an application outlining their work history and pet care experience. They must provide personal and/or employment references. Next, they go on a second interview / training visit with a seasoned pet sitter. We screen our sitters further by obtaining a criminal background check through ADP Screening Services. In addition, all sitters sign a Drug Testing Authorization form, to ensure a Drug-Free Workplace, and an Independent Contractor’s agreement which outlines the requirements and expectations of the job. All pet sitters are life-long pet owners themselves.
